Briarwood Ice | NHL and Studio Ice Rinks and Shopping Center
Date Completed: 1999
Project Cost: $3,600,000
Briarwood Ice | Castle Ice is a remarkable transformation of a former eyesore. Briarwood Shopping Center was a small retail mall that had fallen into disrepair and tarnished the community’s image. The Milberger Architectural Group suggested to Trace and Associates that they build an ice arena as an anchor for the shopping complex. With the addition of six new retail spaces, a pub, and a fully operational single-sheet ice complex, Trace and Associates turned a slum into an asset for the entire county. This facility, with two NHL sheets of ice, will serve the public, hockey, and figure skating communities.
