Arizona Family Sports Arenas | Ice, Inline and Soccer

Arizona Family Sports Arenas | Ice, Inline and Soccer

Date Completed:
Project Cost: $7,000,000

The Gilbert Family Arenas were planned to be nestled near Phoenix, Arizona – “the fastest growing city in the United States”. The sports complex was to be located next to the Gilbert City Hall as an anchor for their newly planned business community. The facility would house 2 NHL ice rinks and a multipurpose area for inline skating and soccer. The third arena would be outfitted with a refrigerated floor so that it could be converted to ice in the future. A rock-climbing wall, sports medicine offices, and a coffee house would be major areas within the project. The project had to meet strict time schedules and city deadlines and was approved by zoning. The “challenge” for the project was to create a facility that would meet Gilbert’s design criteria while maintaining a profitable budget for the clients. The teaming of a construction management team helped to facilitate these goals. Strict schedules were maintained, and goals were met to meet city “Planning and Zoning – Design Review Deadlines”. The project was not funded.
